about01Camp Overview

The 2008 Victory Baseball Camp offers a unique baseball experience like no other. Each day the players will participate in skill development camps conducted by a member of the coaching staff. Daily games will be played against Colorado's finest Connie Mack and American Legion ball clubs with professional and college scouts in the stands.

  • Dates - July 5–13, 2008
  • Each camp will field 21 players who played High School baseball in 2007.
  • Cost: $849.00 excluding airfare, meals, and spending money
  • All players must fly into Denver International Airport by noon on the first day of camp and fly out by noon on the final day of camp.

2008 Coaching Staff

coach1Coach George Kirchgassner
Camp Director

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Coach Kirchgassner has coached high school baseball for 32 years in Central Florida during which time his teams have won nearly 600 games. He has worked as a major league scout for the Expos, Reds, Orioles, and Yankees. Presently he is the head coach at Freedom High School in Orlando, Florida.

coach2Coach Tim Foskett
Coach Foskett was an all-state athlete in both baseball and football at Colonial High School in Orlando. He was recently inducted into the University of Central Florida's Sports Hall of Fame. While at UCF he was a four time all-conference player and twice an All-American. He finished his career with a record .444 batting average.

coach4Coach Patrick Durbin
As a High School player at Jesuit High School in New Orleans Coach Durbin started as a Pitcher/Infielder. Coach Durbin graduated from Bradley University with a masters degree in school counseling. Presently, he teaches and coaches at Freedom High School in Orlando where he is an assistant baseball coach

coach5Coach Bruce Powell
Graduating from North Florida Community College and Austin Peay State University in Tennessee, Bruce Powell made his mark in college level baseball by starting and completing 15 games in a season with a .95 ERA at North Florida. While at Austin Peay he pitched a no-hitter against David Lipscom College helping his team win the Ohio Valley Conference championship.

Coach Powell has been teaching and coaching since 1973. He presently coaches varsity Baseball at Freedom High School in Orlando, Florida.

coach6Coach Mark Mauro
Coach Mauro was a two sport star at Regis High School in Denver, Colorado. He attended Brown University where he graduated in 1975. As a prominent businessman in the Denver area, he and his wife Pat find time to play an active role in both the Babe Ruth and American Legion baseball programs. His experience as a successful businessman, coach and youth camp organizer/sponsor brings a valuable dimension to the Victory Baseball Camp philosophy.
